Second Hand Listings connects buyers and sellers. We don't handle payments or inspect items, so these checks are what keep a deal safe.
Before you meet
- Keep the conversation in chat here. If something goes wrong, the record helps moderators act.
- Never pay an advance, a “token amount” or courier charges before you've seen the item.
- Be wary of prices far below similar listings, and of sellers who can't meet or video-call.
- Never share an OTP. No genuine buyer or seller needs one.
Testing a graphics card
- Ask to see it running in a PC. Check the model and memory size in GPU-Z match the listing.
- Run a stress test such as FurMark or a game benchmark for 5–10 minutes. Watch for artifacts, crashes and temperatures above about 85 °C.
- Check every display output and listen for grinding fans.
- Match the serial number on the card with the box or bill if the seller has them.
Testing a processor, RAM or storage
- Processors: check for bent pins (AMD) or damaged pads (Intel), then confirm the model in CPU-Z.
- Memory: confirm capacity and speed in CPU-Z; a quick MemTest pass is better.
- Drives: check health and power-on hours in CrystalDiskInfo.
Buying a full PC or mini PC
- Boot it in front of you and open Task Manager to confirm the CPU, GPU, RAM and storage.
- Run a game or benchmark for a few minutes and check temperatures.
- Ask whether Windows is activated and whether the bills or warranties transfer.
Paying
- Pay only after you've tested the item and are happy with it.
- UPI is fine once you're standing with the item. Confirm the payment has arrived before the seller hands it over.
- For expensive items, meet somewhere with CCTV, such as a mall or a computer market.
If something goes wrong
- Use “Report this listing” on the listing page. Moderators review every report and remove scam listings and accounts.
- For fraud, file a complaint at cybercrime.gov.in or call 1930.
